I think so, and here’s a big reason why:
As a kid, I always wanted a dog. I begged my parents for one, but when I decided that was a lost cause, I started wishing for a dog using every dandelion fluff I could find.
Eventually that too didn’t work, but since I was going to a church school, I decided each wish would hold more power if I actually made each one a prayer to God.
On one specific day when I was feeling especially desperate for a dog, I told Him I was even willing to have our neighbors get a dog that I could bond with, but then for some reason they wouldn’t be able to keep it, and that we’d take it in.
I kid you not, soon after making this prayer, our neighbors got a dog that we bonded with. When she became too much for them to handle, we took her in.
This couldn’t have been a coincidence. God answered my prayers with the sweetest, cutest dachshund that helped me through the toughest and lowest points in my life.
For this, I will always believe.
